SC Johnson’s activities as a member of the Consumer Goods Forum:
• Participant in Global Social Compliance Programme a cross-industry platform that brings together major retailers, brands and stakeholders to work collaboratively on harmonizing the landscape of compliance standards while supporting efforts on capacity building at the supplier level. SC Johnson is helping lead work on Reference Models for the Implementation of the Environmental Module.
The goal of this work is to develop joint approaches in environmental compliance monitoring and capacity building. To do this, we are building replicable and scalable models to implement the environmental requirements and methodology provided by the GSCP to manage factories’ performance and impact (the GSCP Environmental Module). In collaboration with other companies and stakeholders, we’re working to create a comprehensive toolkit for suppliers to achieve environmental stewardship, from compliance to leadership.
• Contributor to the Global Packaging Project and its Global Protocol on Packaging Sustainability 2.0, which was launched in September 2011.
